Coffee
Coffee is one of those things I genuinely nerd out about. Not in a snobbish way, more like the same energy I bring to configuring a new Linux setup. There's always something to tweak, something to learn, and the payoff is immediate and delicious.

Brewing methods

V60 Pour Over
daily driverThe one I reach for most mornings. The process is meditative: slow pour, watching the bloom, dialing in the grind. Clean, bright, and you can actually taste the origin.
-
Aeropress
most versatileForgiving and fast. Great for experimenting with the inverted method, different steep times, coarser grinds. You can pull something espresso-adjacent or a clean filter cup from the same device.
-
Espresso
high skill ceilingThe most technical of the bunch. Dial in the grind, nail the tamp, watch the shot time. When it's right it's incredible. When it's wrong you learn something. Either way you're caffeinated.
-
French Press
lazy Sunday energyFull immersion, thick body, zero fuss. I pull this out when I want a big mug without thinking too hard. Coarse grind, 4 minutes, done.

Ethiopian Yirgacheffe
go-to beanFloral, blueberry-forward, natural process. Brews beautifully as a pour over. If you've never had a light roast Ethiopian you're missing out.
-
Victrola Coffee Roasters
local roasterSeattle staple. Consistent quality, great single origins, and you can watch them roast at the Capitol Hill location.

Dialing in espresso ratio
currently learningWorking on pulling consistent 1:2 ratio shots. The difference between a 25s and 30s pull is wild: same beans, totally different cup.
